Constitution of the Emirates Natural History Group (Abu Dhabi)

1. The group shall be known as the Emirates Natural History Group (Abu Dhabi).

2. The aim of the group will be to encourage and assist members in the study and appreciation of the natural history of Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, the Middle East, and the world.

3. Membership is open to all with an interest in the aims of the group.

4. The Group will have the following Committee:

Chairman

Secretary

Treasurer

Ordinary Members

5. Members of the Committee will serve for one year. Members will be elected at the Annual General Meeting that will be held in the spring of each year. Retiring committee members will be eligible for re-election. The Committee may co-opt members at their discretion.

6. The function of the Committee is to organize and co-ordinate the activities of the Group.

7. An extra-ordinary general meeting may be called by any member of the Group who collects 15 signatures of members supporting such a meeting.

8. The annual subscription shall be Dh30 per person or Dh50 for family membership. Dues will be on the 1st January each year.

9. At the Annual General Meeting:

a) The Chairman will present a brief report to the members on the year's activities.

b) The Treasurer will present a report on the finances and a copy of a statement of account will be made available to members.

c) Recorders will present a brief summary of the year's observations.

10. The constitution of the Group may be changed at the AGM or at an EGM. The changes will be agreed by a simple majority vote of those present.

11. In the event of restrictions being necessary for business or social functions, the Committee shall have the right to decide these restrictions.

12. A panel of Recorders will be set up to record the observations of members.

13. A Bulletin will be produced to inform members of records made, to inform them of Club and Committee activities, and of items of interest to natural historians. Responsibility for the Bulleting shall rest with the Committee, who will appoint an Editor of the Bulletin.

14. Minutes of Committee meetings will be kept and made available to any member on request.
