Nizwa 2009

The weather was unusually dusty and hazy for the Nizwa weekend trip for the chapter in early February (12-14) of 2009. Members from Al Ain were accompanied by other ENHG members from Sharjah and Abu Dhabi for the year's visit to Nizwa Souq, Jebel Shams, Manah and other destinations.

As the weekend in Oman is Thursday and Friday -- as opposed to the Friday and Saturday combination in the UAE -- the program in 2009 was reversed from the one followed in past years; that is, the group visited the Nizwa souq Friday morning before touring Manah and Birkat al Mawz. On Saturday, the group split into two with one group driving up Jebel Shams for the Cliff Walk while others began the drive back to Al Ain with stops at the Al Hota Cave, Bahla and other sites.
