The following is the text of a letter presented to Ibrahim Zakhour in recognition of his years of contributions to the Emirates Natural History Group. The presentation took place at the Al Ain chapter's Annual General Meeting at the Al Ain Hilton Hotel on Tuesday 27 November 2001.

The Committee and membership of the Al Ain chapter is pleased to present Ibrahim with a lifetime membership in the Emirates Natural History Group in recognition of his unselfish contributions over almost 20 years.

No one enjoys a weekend in the mountains more than Ibrahim who explains the experience:

I discovered that my soul is uplifted with the mountains. Closer to heavens it would be. And the desert mountains have a charm of their own; it is all exposed to you, all its lines, strata and detail. The views from the summits are unobstructed; it takes you to the beyond.

Ibrahim has taken his fellow travelers to the beyond more often than any other Field Trip leader. Twice each month, he would share some of his favorite locations, share his knowledge of our natural history, and share his unwavering enthusiasm.

On behalf of countless individuals whose lives have been touched, thank you, Ibrahim.
